Architettura, Davide Padoa ( CEO Design International ) continua a fare incetta di Premi internazionali

Design International’s projects, “Nave de Vero” and “Mall of Guadalajara” have once again been recognized by the prestigious International Property Awards. This time, the recognition is on a regional level as Nave de Vero received a “Highly Commended Award” in the category of “Retail Architecture: Europe”, further to the extraordinary achievements of last September 19th at the Americas Property Awards ceremony in Los Angeles that won Design International quadruple awards with Mall of Guadalajara in the categories “Best Retail Architecture: Americas” and “Best Mixed-Use: Americas”.

To reach the regional stage, the two projects had to win in their respective countries, with the winners then being re-judged on a regional level.

Designed by Davide Padoa, principal architect and CEO of Design International, Nave de Vero’s ship-inspired design explores Venice’s merchant trading history and integrates the past with the present. The project has transformed the local area of Marghera near Venice in Italy, giving its local community a new and exciting meeting place.

Padoa comments: «We are so proud that Nave de Vero has been awarded a Highly Commended Award in the category Best Retail Architecture Europe. We have created symbolic elements that express the individuality of each and every shop and restaurant in a vibrant environment where the visitors are the real protagonists». Continues Padoa: «I am glad that our client Corio trusted and fully embraced our design vision and our playful style to enhance volumes, light and the individuality that we expressed for each shop and restaurant».

The winning factor behind Mall of Guadalajara, Mexico, is its stunning “green” concept where the architects have brought the great outdoors back indoors, whilst ensuring the mall’s environment was still open and airy. Inspired by the multi-colored Mexican serape-style of weaving, the project truly reflects the personality of the Jalisco region in Mexico.

«Mall of Guadalajara is a truly unique project in that it perfectly reflects the vibrancy of Guadalajara and its creative people. The project will create a stunning new commercial and entertainment destination in a ground-breaking architectural and public street setting that is inspired by nature, the traditional city districts and the local Latin American culture»- says Padoa.

Having two projects being recognized in the same award on two different and highly competitive continents such as Europe and the Americas the same year, is a reminder of Design International’s reputation as one of the most innovative companies in the real estate industry that continuously delivers outstanding work. While Nave de Vero opened its door to the public in April 2014, Mall of Guadalajara is one of more than 20 high profile retail, leisure and entertainment projects of the firm currently under development across the globe and it plans opening by the last quarter of 2018.
