«Hilton Worldwide has reached agreements to add its first European hotels under the Curio – A Collection by Hilton brand. Dating back more than a century each, “Reichshof Hamburg” and “Rumeli Han Istanbul”  ( pictured) are historic landmark hotels undergoing major renovation and restoration. The hotels are due to open in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Launched in June 2014, Curio offers upper upscale and luxury independent hotels the opportunity to partner with Hilton Worldwide whilst maintaining their own distinct identity and local charm. Having already welcomed guests into the first Curio properties in destinations in the Americas including Las Vegas, Dallas and Florida, “Reichshof Hamburg” is expected to be the first Curio to open in Europe.  Patrick Fitzgibbon said : “Europe offers a prime growth opportunity for Curio owing to its concentration of quality independent hotels. Reichshof Hamburg and Rumeli Han Istanbul are iconic properties which, by joining Curio – A Collection by Hilton, will maintain their unique characters, underpinned by Hilton’s commercial engine and global reputation.” Reichshof Hamburg is owned and operated by RH Operations GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cologne based Event Hotels, and boasts a prime location in the strategic Hamburg market, directly opposite Hamburg Central Station. Built in 1910, the hotel features an imposing art deco façade and an impressive panelled restaurant, installed in the 1920s and taking inspiration from by Hamburg’s rich maritime history. Reichshof Hamburg is currently undergoing a €30m renovation programme which will return its exterior to its former glory, whilst creating a new, contemporary interior. Upon completion in Q2 2015, the hotel will include 280 guest rooms and suites, 11 meeting rooms and a 177 square metre ballroom. Rumeli Han Istanbul is owned and managed by Tarı̇hı̇ Rumelı̇ Han Turı̇zm Ve İnşaat San.Tı̇c.

«Hilton Worldwide has signed an agreement to open its largest Hampton by Hilton hotel to date, in central Berlin. With 344 guest rooms and a prime city centre location, Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is slated to open in early 2018.  The hotel is being developed under a franchise agreement with Interstar Hotel GmbH, which owns and operates a number of hotels across Germany.

The new hotel continues Hampton by Hilton’s growth in key urban locations across Europe, and joins more than 90 hotels trading or under development in the region.  Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is situated less than 400 metres from the popular Alexanderplatz square, in the heart of Berlin and the German capital’s prime business district. Guests at the hotel will have excellent access to the Berlin’s transport network, with a tram station directly in front of the hotel and S-Bahn and underground stations both within walking distance.

Hampton by Hilton has proven popular among guests and owners since its introduction into Europe less than a decade ago. Serving value conscious, quality-driven guests is core to its philosophy, along with the provision of consistent amenities, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and a hot breakfast included in the room rate. Its clearly defined guest proposition has made Hampton by Hilton a leader in the economy segment and one of the fastest growing hotel brands worldwide».
