Can I introduce myself?

I was born and live in Milan.

I went to a classical studies high school and I have a degree in philosophy from the University of Milan. I studied piano from the age of 4 until I entered university: and that’s why I wrote a thesis in pedagogy, on the topic "Musical Education in Italian Schools".

When my husband started a small real estate consulting firm in 1978 ( Alberto has been an advisor since then, and specializes in finance), I began to collaborate with him and, since I knew nothing about real estate, I spent many years not only working but also studying hard.

I studied everything: first of all law, then marketing, economics, and many other things.

Meanwhile I also wrote.

Little by little, writing became my main occupation. Eventually almost my only one.

I’ve always cultivated a life of association. I’ve especially been involved with FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation. From 1984 to 1985, I was the international president of "Group 35", the association’s chapter for young professionals. I then became active in AICI, the Italian Association of Real Estate Consultants and Managers (www.aici-italia.it). Since the founding of AICI in 1987, I’ve been in charge of the association’s internal and external communications. In 1998 I joined ERES, the European Real Estate Society (www.eres.org), a pan European network of real estate economists. In 2001 I became a member of the association’s board of directors, and now I’m the President, until june 2006. I was the organizer of the 11th ERES Annual Conference, which took place for the first time in Italy, in Milan, in June 2004. Over 400 delegates from 40 countries attended the event.

I am always willing to participate in training, at times even in the academic world; and in organizing conferences, seminars etc. Another activity of mine is strategic communication consulting, always connected with real estate.

I travel on business a lot, including abroad.

My few holidays, by contrast, are today very domestic. In my younger days, however, I went on holiday often and I’ve been in many places, including faraway ones. That’s how I took up the movie camera (super 8) as a hobby. I cut the movies myself with a Moviola. I also enjoyed painting. Nowadays, in my extremely rare free time, I read and do a bit of gardening. Music is always there, whether at home or in my office.

I don’t have any children, but I do have a small tribe of cats. As Camilla Cederna ( a famous Italian writer and journalist ) said, my religion is "Cat-olic".
