Il Summit CoreNet Global EMEA a Bruxelles

dal 21 al 22 settembre 2009

“Representatives from major international corporates -including Vodafone, Nokia, AstraZeneca, Glaxo SmithKline, and Microsoft - will be presenting their thoughts on the downturn and a tougher business environment during the annual CoreNet Global EMEA Summit, which takes place 21-22 September in Brussels.

A comprehensive stream of education sessions will present case studies and interactive sessions on how to weather the current climate during the annual Summit, which has adopted the theme “Forward! Positioning for the Turnaround and Beyond” to provide expert insight into what needs to be done before recovery really commences.

Highlights will include:

  • A look at how corporate real estate (CRE) can help support market position, retain and attract staff, and showcase mobile working practices, with a presentation on the experiences of Vodafone NL

  • The plans being developed by Nokia to enable them to manage workplace change more effectively when the turnaround comes through a focus on their communication processes

  • A look at the lessons to be learned from the pharmaceuticals sector of benefit to CRE, with contributions from AstraZenica and GlaxoSmithKline

  • How Fortune 1000 companies can address sustainability, occupancy flexibility and life-cycle management issues to enhance portfolio performance, with lessons learned from the Royal Bank of Scotland and others

  • A session on how Rabobank and Microsoft have integrated CRE and IT functions to transform the physical and virtual work environments

Other sessions planned will include a focus on new ways of working “beyond walls”; a session on the evolution of CRE partnerships in challenging global markets; a speed mentoring session for one on one career advice and coaching; and a special focus on the energy retrofitting of the iconic Empire State Building to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.

In addition to the stream of education sessions, a number of keynote presentations are planned, including from Norbert Walter, Chief Economist at Deutsche Bank looking at the future of the global economy and how Europe is likely to fare in the post recession world, and Jan Vermeiren, a networking coach and author who will provide delegates with expert guidance on successful business networking techniques.

In a departure from the usual format, CoreNet Global has announced that the EMEA Summit will take place over two highly focused conference days rather than three, ensuring that delegates need only spend one overnight in Brussels and two days out of the office should time constraints and budgets prove an issue.

However, despite the shorter format, the programme will still include keynote presentations from industry leaders, seminars and workshops, and networking opportunities including a number of breakfasts, lunches, evening entertainment and a closing reception.

CoreNet Global is the world's leading professional association for corporate real estate and workplace executives serving leading multinational companies from the Fortune and Global 1000. More than 7,000 members manage over $1.2-trillion in real estate and workplace assets in Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and North America.

The European network consists of fully integrated chapters in the UK, Benelux and Central Europe (headquartered in Germany and serving a number of countries), each facilitating effective networking practices and the exchange of ideas at a regional, as well as global, level.

Johnson Controls and Microsoft are Platinum sponsors of the Brussels Summit, with Gold sponsors including CBRE and BNP Paribas Real Estate. Silver sponsors include Ahrend, Locate in Birmingham, Eurocres, Qube and Steelcase.

Registration details are available at http://www2.corenetglobal.org/ or contact Katleen Beeckman, Director Operations, EMEA Tel: +32.53.21.27.10 email kbeeckman@corenetglobal.org

The CoreNet Global EMEA Summit in Brussels takes place 21-22 September 2009 at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Brussels” (CS dell’Associazione).
