Numeri, novità e Highlights del prossimo MIPIM

11 e 14 marzo 2008

"Every year MIPIM sets a new record. Once again this year, the event is expanding with 26,815 m² of net exhibition space (plus 2,315 m² compared to 2007) and more than 28,000 delegates expected from 85 countries. On 29 February, 2008, ten days before the event opens, there were already:

8,300 accredited participating companies (there were ultimately 8,500 registered in 2007, so a projected rise of 10% over last year)
2,500 exhibiting companies (already the final figure in 2007)
1,500 investment companies (compared to 1,300 by the end of the 2007 event, so almost 28% up on last year’s figure)
Among the participants, a large number of key experts and decision-makers:

More than 800 CEOs from international companies
More than 140 Mayors from cities in 25 countries
More than 920 firms of architects and city designers, represented by nearly 1,500 professionals
More than 110 international hotel groups
Some domestic markets are showing higher increases than others:

The most represented countries at MIPIM are:
- The United Kingdom (1,733 companies accredited by February 29, up 6%)

- France (1,208 companies, up 1%)

- Germany (719 companies, up 22%)

- The Russian Federation (488 companies, up 13%)

- Belgium (324 companies, up 19%)

- Northern European countries, including the Netherlands (277 companies), Denmark (251 companies) and Sweden (246 companies), a rise of 13% for the latter two.

The fastest-growing countries among the 10 best-represented countries are Germany (3rd) and the United States (9th), both up 22%
In the exhibition area, the largest stands include:

1. The London stand, 897 m² (already in the 1st rank in 2007 with 763 m²)

2. The Russian regions stand of 550 m² (only 3rd in size in 2007 with 350 m²)

New in 2008

The creation of 2 new exhibition areas representing an additional 2,115 m², "Harbour Village" and "Port Side", overlooking the port and increasing the number of exhibition halls to 17
Sizeable participation from Germany with, for the first time this year, a 210 m² stand for the Ministry for Economy and Technology, which hosts a dozen German companies, as well as the cities of Frankfurt and Munich, which join Berlin on one of the largest stands at MIPIM, with 355 m², 352 m² and 329 m² respectively
A new format for professional meetings (to complete the workshops dedicated to end-users and “speed matching" sessions started last year); These Hotel Chat Groups, organized in partnership with the hotel consulting firm MKG Hospitality, focus on investment opportunities in hotel assets in light of the current boom in international tourism
The creation of a new "green" buildings category for the MIPIM Awards, which features competing projects that respect the environment and are operationally sustainable, particularly in managing energy consumption
The launch of a “MIPIM Summit", bringing together a selection of key international private investors behind closed doors, with the session broadcast exclusively on Bloomberg TV
