«Each year the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) at the European Business School (EBS), International University Schloss Reichartshausen, Germany, in cooperation with Aareal Bank AG, an international financing institution, as well as the publishing house “Immobilien Manager Verlag” present the

“Aareal Award of Excellence in Real Estate Research”.

In total, this prize is remunerated with EUR 12.000 and given to deserving international real estate students. The research award is designed to recognize outstanding academic research in the field of real estate. Thus, the student may have a background in business administration, economics, architecture, engineering or any other real estate related discipline.

Education is based upon innovation which, in turn, is generated through excellent research. For this reason, REMI and Aareal Bank would like to promote quantitative, high-quality research among up-and-coming real estate academics and thus create an international network in our field.

The award will be presented as part of the annual EBS Real Estate Congress on February 27th, 2009, at the European Business School Campus in Oestrich-Winkel near Frankfurt. Winners will receive their prizes before an audience of 500 congress attendees and will travel to Germany at the expense of the award initiators.

This year, master-, bachelor- and doctoral theses as well as research papers dealing with the broad areas of

- real estate finance,

- real estate risk management, and

- real estate sustainability

will be accepted.

Please do not miss the deadline for hardcopy or electronic (*.pdf) submission (31st of January, 2009). A reference from the student’s advisor is welcome.
