ProLogis , the world's largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, announced today that it has been ranked No. 1 in the real estate industry on FORTUNE's 2008 list of "America's Most Admired Companies." This is the second year in a row that the company has received this prestigious designation.
"I am excited that the efforts of our team have been publicly recognized. I am especially pleased by the fact that the 'Most Admired' list is voted on by executives and analysts from each industry category," said Jeff Schwartz, ProLogis' chairman and chief executive officer. "Our talented global associates are the primary reason we have been able to achieve this leadership position, and I thank each of them for their contribution in creating our culture and brand."
ProLogis was ranked first by FORTUNE in eight out of eight performance categories, including innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products or services. ProLogis was evaluated against real estate companies drawn from the FORTUNE 1,000 representing a variety of property sectors, including office, retail, hotel and residential.
ProLogis was also listed among the top-ten "Most Admired" companies nationwide -- which ranked companies from all industry segments -- in the categories of innovation and quality of management.
FORTUNE and its survey partner, the Hay Group, surveyed more than 3,700 executives, directors and analysts across 65 different industries. The list and related stories appeared in the March 17, 2007, issue of the magazine». (CS della Società)
