Berlino, l'International Hotel Investment Forum annuncia il vincitore del "Young Leader Award"

07/03/2012

The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) is delighted to announce Alexandra Zubko as the deserved recipient of the 2012 Young Leader Award. This prestigious recognition is co-sponsored by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) and over the past four years, has become an integral part of the world leading conference.

Alexandra is Vice President, Head of Global Strategy for InterContinental Hotels Group. Her role requires her to lead a team of 12 strategy team members located in three offices across the globe. Some of her current projects include work on distribution and loyalty strategy, consumer needs segmentation analysis, owner relationship management tools and evaluating various new technologies. Alexandra’s role requires continuous review of where improvements can be made within the organisation. This requires an objective approach with no bias or agenda other than the success of IHG and it’s brands. Alexandra’s sponsor, Caron Jones, Talent Resourcing Director, Europe, who nominated her, agrees that these are qualities Alexandra demonstrates every day. “Alexandra is a breath of fresh air in the hospitality industry. One thing you’ll never hear her say is “we don’t do it like this in hotels”. Importantly, she uses facts and analysis to demonstrate where positive changes can be made and is extremely creative in coming up with new ideas and approaches that have a measurable impact on the success of the business.”

The 2012 Young Leader Award will be presented to Alexandra on Wednesday 7th March 2012 by Michael Hirst OBE and Sean Hennessey, ISHC Chairman and CEO, Lodging Advisors at a dedicated session taking place at the InterContinental Hotel, Berlin.

Tess Pearson, Event Director, Questex Media Group commented on the announcement; “it is incredibly rewarding to be able to champion the talent of the young members of the hospitality industry. I am delighted that Alexandra has been awarded the title and know this accolade, which is recognised across the industry, will serve to support and develop her career long into the future.

Lori Raleigh, Executive Director, ISHC commented; “We are delighted to be a co-sponsor along with the IHIF of this very special award. The Young Leader Award was established in 2009 to recognise emerging executive talent in the hospitality industry. This year we had a record number of nominations---including outstanding candidates with many different backgrounds and areas of expertise”.

ISHC coordinated the screening process and the award winner was selected by an independent judging panel comprised of 21 industry leaders . ”We are looking forward to personally congratulating Alexandra Zubko, this year’s very deserving award winner, at the IHIF in Berlin in March”.

Candidates eligible for nomination for the IHIF Young Leader Award must fulfil the following criteria:

- be under 35 years of age

- worked in a hospitality-related field

- completed a significant project for his or her hotel/organisation

- be recognized by leaders of his or her own hotel/organisation as an emerging leader

- be based in a European country
