Commerz Real perfeziona la vendita della società Commerz Real Spezialfondsgesellschaft mbH (CRS) a INTERNOS Global Investors

Following approval from the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin), Commerz Real has successfully concluded the process for the sale of Commerz Real Spezialfondsgesellschaft mbH (CRS) to INTERNOS Global Investors. The contractual parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality on the conditions and other key data of the transaction. The real estate portfolio of the nine CRS fundsencompasses 68 European office, retail, hotel and logistics properties with a total value of 1.6 billion euros. In the wake of the sale 17 employees will be moving to INTERNOS Global Investors.
“In comparison with other product areas of the excellently positioned Commerz Real, as a result of its extensive tying-up of resources with relatively small lot sizes, CRS has proved to be less profitable. Providers such as INTERNOS Global Investors, which focus on special funds, have a competitive advantage in this respect,” says Dr. Andreas Muschter, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerz Real AG. “Naturally we will continue to serve our institutional investors. Our fundamental strengths lie in the structuring of needs-oriented investment solutions and in asset management. In the future institutional investors will be able to profit from this in the framework of various investment structures, such as Club Deals for example, and thanks to an expanded asset range. Alongside real estate, these primarily include renewable energies and infrastructure projects.”
In this respect the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Amprion (former RWE supergrid), concluded in 2012 by a consortium of investors headed by Commerz Real, had a role model character. The fund company which holds the shares in Amprion is remaining under the management of the Commerz Real Group.
Commerz Real is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Commerzbank AG with more than 40 years of market experience and approximately 34 billion euros in assets under management. The company combines comprehensive know-how in asset and extensive structuring expertise to deliver its signature range of services encompassing fund products focused on tangibles and individual financing solutions. The company’s range of funds includes the open-ended real estate fund hausInvest, institutional investment products, as well as entrepreneurial shareholdings for real estate, aircraft, renewable energy, and ships. Moreover, in its role as the leasing company of the Commerzbank Group Commerz Real offers needs-oriented equipment leasing concepts, as well as individual financing structures for assets such as real estate, large-scale plant and infrastructure projects.
