Il MiCo di Milano firma con le associazioni degli albergatori per i grandi eventi internazionali

Fiera Milano Congressi ha firmato un accordo con l’Associazione Albergatori di Milano e il Gruppo Terziario Turistico Assolombarda. «The objective of the agreement is to cooperate to compete more effectively with Europe's conference capitals in bidding for large international events and conferences. Under the agreement, the two associations, which represent the majority of Milan’s hotels, will ask member hotels to make available the allotment of rooms necessary to take part in national and international tenders for events. Given its size, the MiCo can host large conferences, but bids must include sufficient room availability: hence Fiera Milano Congressi’s call to hotels to join the “group” that will work to bring events to the region».
Milano, si spiega, «does not have a convention bureau, and the agreement marks a step towards the creation of a “conference system”, which will also benefit hotels: according to Milan Chamber of Commerce data, hotels have an average occupancy rate of 61%, which could be raised significantly by the presence, outside the peak tourism season, of thousands of conference delegates».
Insomma, questo accordo dovrebbe rendere l’ offerta milanese «more efficient and effective also for international events organisers, by structuring it within a framework of cooperation between the conference centre and the city's accommodation facilities».
