PATRIZIA mira a espandersi in Giappone e nomina Katsumi Nakamoto quale nuovo Presidente e Representative Director nel Paese

PATRIZIA, a leading partner for global real assets, has appointed Katsumi Nakamoto as new President and Representative Director of PATRIZIA Japan K.K., (hereafter referred to as PATRIZIA Japan), and will accelerate business expansion in Japan with the aim of reaching AUM of JPY300bn (EUR 2.3billion). He will report directly to PATRIZIA’s Co-CEO Thomas Wels.

Katsumi Nakamoto enjoys an outstanding reputation and track record as a leader in the Japanese real estate sector. He has worked for over 30 years in real estate investment and asset management in Japan, US and Asia.

“I’m very excited that Katsumi Nakamoto has accepted the leadership role for PATRIZIA in Japan which is a key growth market for our company and a cornerstone of our internationalisation strategy,” said Thomas Wels, PATRIZIA Co-CEO. “Nakamoto brings tremendous expertise and a very strong business network to PATRIZIA Japan. I am convinced that he will significantly strengthen our visibility, grow our institutional client base and attract more capital to our real estate products. And thanks to his broad real estate experience in Japan, Asia and the US, he will help us develop more attractive investment opportunities for our growing international client base, not only for Real Estate (Residential, Office, Logistics ) but also for investments in PropTech companies in Japan.”

“I really look forward to joining PATRIZIA to expand the company’s business across the risk spectrum and into further asset classes beyond residential. This is an exciting time to join the company when it is further expanding its global reach by strengthening its footprint in Asia,” said Katsumi Nakamoto. “PATRIZIA has built an impressive track record as an independent global investment manager over the last 37 years and already taken important steps to establish its business in Japan. With my broad experience and strong network across Asia PATRIZIA will be able to increase its product offering and attract more local as well as international clients. My clear ambition is to increase PATRIZIA’s AUM in Japan up to JPY300bn (EUR2.3bn) in the next three to four years.”

Thomas Wels added: “On behalf of the Management Board, I would like to thank Takehiko Uehara for his trust, outstanding commitment and support as our former Country Manager after the acquisition of Kenzo Capital Corporation. Uehara-san successfully integrated the asset management business and established PATRIZIA’s brand in Japan. He was instrumental in creating a professional investment platform and completed the transition ahead of schedule. I am also very grateful that he will continue to support us in a consultancy role.”

PATRIZIA Japan K.K. was established in 2019 by acquiring the business of KENZO Capital Corporation. PATRIZIA gives Japanese institutional investors the opportunity to diversify their portfolios – in all asset classes, all risk profiles across all major European countries – via local platforms as part of an established independent pan-European organisation.

PATRIZIA has a strong track record in Asia and raised over EUR 3 billion in equity over the past few years from Asian investors. The company has been growing its reach in recent years and now has 24 offices globally, including client relationship hubs in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, and the US, as well as in Europe.
